Sally Mathrick: Pioneering naturopath, writer, academic and founder of The Sparkle Well School.

For over 20 years, Sally Mathrick has been a passionate advocate for wholistic health and women’s wellbeing. She blends her academic education, clinical experience, and innovative wholistic wisdom to empower individuals and communities. She is a sought-after naturopath, health educator, speaker, and inspires others to cultivate vitality and prioritise connection through the wisdom of nature. 

As a practising naturopath since 2003 Sally supports clients across Australia and world-wide. Her systems-based approach integrates individual well-being with planetary health, ensuring her work not only transforms her clients lives but also contributes to a regenerative future. 

She is, since 2018, writing a perennial book about perspectives on menopause and appropriately applied natural and lifestyle medicines in this time of uncertainty.
Book is due to be released end 2025.

Sally’s work is informed and inspired by the healing harmony of nature, the intricacies of interconnectedness and the inspiration of human potential. These resonate with the principles of Deep Ecology and naturopathic philosophy which underpins all her work. Through her innovative programs and teachings, she helps individuals align with their natural vitality, build confidence, and shine their innate light.

Academic and life-long learning.

Sally’s academic achievements include degrees in politics, arts, and science from Melbourne University, Southern Cross University, and the University of Tasmania. These include a postgraduate qualification in Complementary Medicines Management, which focused on natural medicines for menopausal vaginal atrophy. Currently, she is part of the academic team at Torrens University, where she mentors final-year students in Naturopathy, Western Herbal Medicine, and Nutrition, to effectively apply holistic health science in clinical settings. She teaches graduating students about applications of integrating wholistic systems thinking within the current health system.

As a contributor to clinical textbooks, Sally’s work has helped shape the field of natural medicine. She authored monographs for Herbs & Natural Supplements: An Evidence-Based Guide (4th Edition) by Braun & Cohen and served on the editorial team for The Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine Project for seven years.

Professional Speaking and Leadership

Sally is a highly regarded speaker, presenting at professional conferences such as the Australian Naturopathic Summit (as a keynote), Lifestyle Medicine Conferences, and the 11th Herbal & Naturopathic International Conference. She has delivered workplace wellness programs for companies, including ANZ, BMW and Lonely Planet, among many others.

She shares her insights at NewKind Social Change Conference and festivals including Seven Sisters Festival and Wise Women Gathering. Sally also collaborated with environmentalist John Seed to deliver Deep Ecology workshops at Rainbow Serpent and other venues, blending health, sustainability, and connection. 

Her leadership extends to her time as a board member of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA) from 2018–2020. During her tenure, she pioneered the Environmental Committee and created a “Weed Walk Kit” to help members connect with wild, local herbal medicines.

Sally’s forward thinking propelled her into co-create and upgrade to her Southern Cross University’s organic food Co-op in the ‘nineties, The Global Apothecary Festival-based natural medicine clinic in the ‘naughties, The Byron Integrative Medicine Conferences in the ‘teenies and now The Darling Muffs of May

Sally is a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (FASLM) and a long-standing member of the NHAA. Her expertise and dedication to natural medicine have made her a trusted authority and collaborator in the health and wellness industry.
